If you’re into floral, you’re lucky because the Spring/Summer 2018 trend has got floral love all over it.There are quite a few print trends to go crazy over this season (like stripes and polka dots), but the florals have got some lovely blooms that you can adorn yourself with this summer.

‘60s Florals

The late-1960s Flower Power hippie look hasn’t made a full-blown reemergence into the stratosphere, but you’re definitely going to find a few big and bold flowers in those famous retro orange, gold, and pinks splashed on fun maxi and mini dresses. If you’re totally into this look and you want to be super ‘60s and not faux ‘60s, now might be the time to get to Goodwill or your grandma’s closet to find those far out fashion treasures so that you can truly be on trend.

Be a Wallflower

Going big not your thing? Then dainty flowers (yes, like those you’d find on vintage wallpaper patterns) are also the way to go this summer. Think pastel blues, pinks, and yellows in flower patterns that either canvas the entire shirt or dress. Or, instead of so much flower power, you may like a delicate detail that quietly vines along a hemline, neckline, or waistline. Speaking of details, don’t forget to express yourself with accessories! These days, it seems like anything goes, so if you want to sport a 1980s-style plastic headband with a splashy daisy pattern, go for it! How about turning to your inner Georgia O’Keefe and painting a pair of white sneakers with your own rendition of Red Poppy or Apple Blossoms. If that’s just too much, a little rosebud stud earring can go a long way in its artistic simplicity. So can a light rose-scented perfume like Tory Burch Jolie Fleur Rose or Jo Malone’s heavier scented fragrance, simply called Red Rose. Find a way to make floral your signature standout style.

Get Flowy, Get Flirty Material Girl

If you’re a romantic, and you probably are if you’re dabbling in style so visually sweet, nothing says romance more than flowy chiffon or silky silk materials. Throw in a print of feminine florals, and we’ve got a date! Look for a ruffle dress with a high slit or plunging neckline to make you feel super gorgeous as you float down your own personal runway (or the sidewalk!)

With all these choices, it’s pretty fantastic that so many designers have some kind of flowery offering this season. This cute plus size shop, City Chic, has some great stuff at Nordstrom and their site online. Diane von Furstenberg has an haute wrap coat that is wonderfully hot. Charlotte Rouse, Forever 21, and Marc Jacobs are also in on the flower game. You’ll have plenty of options to satisfy your flower child within.
